Park Hyatt Tokyo Reopens After Landmark Restoration

After a 19-month transformation, Park Hyatt Tokyo has reopened its doors with a complete renewal of its guestrooms, signature suites, dining destinations, and wellness experiences. The celebrated Shinjuku hotel, long known for its cinematic skyline views and refined residential design, unveils a thoughtful restoration led by Studio Jouin Manku that honors its legacy while elevating it for the next generation of luxury travelers.

A New Vision for Guestrooms and Iconic Suites

All 171 guestrooms and suites have been redesigned with softer forms, fluid layouts, and tactile materials that reinforce a sense of calm high above the city. New wet-room bathrooms, custom furnishings, contemporary Japanese artwork, and expanded sightlines create spaces that feel both restorative and refined. Specialty suites, including the Diplomat, Governor’s, and Presidential Suites, have been refreshed, while the beloved Tokyo Suite remains preserved in its original John Morford design as a tribute to the hotel’s past.

Each redesigned room incorporates magnolia leaf motifs, curated art by Yoshitaka Echizenya, and the hotel’s iconic Noguchi washi lamps. A new Park Suite offers sweeping views of Harajuku and Yoyogi Park, along with generous living and dining areas suited for extended stays or private entertaining.

Elevated Dining Led by Global Culinary Talent

The reopening introduces significant changes to Park Hyatt Tokyo’s dining scene, beginning with the debut of Girandole by Alain Ducasse. Created in partnership with Ducasse Paris Group and led by Chef Kojiro Tsutsumi, the restaurant brings a modern expression of French brasserie cuisine to Tokyo. Deep-red velvet banquettes, mirrored accents, and a striking Italian marble culinary console set the tone, while the space retains its iconic 144-image collage by artist Vera Mercer. Signature dishes include an upside-down cheese soufflé, Wagyu beef tenderloin with Anna potatoes, lobster cocotte with truffle macaroni, and a Tokyo-exclusive Alain Ducasse chocolate soufflé.

New York Grill & Bar has also been restored to its original black-and-chrome aesthetic, preserving its bold, sky-high energy and panoramic views from the 52nd floor. Under Chef Ben Wheeler, the restaurant showcases premium ingredients with minimalist precision, complemented by an expanded wine cellar and refreshed cocktails. Artwork by Valerio Adami and Minoru Nomata continues to anchor the atmosphere.

The Peak Lounge & Bar returns with its dramatic glass atrium, renewed bamboo grove, and a sculptural marble bar. A new regional cocktail program, “Six Prefectures, One Skyline,” highlights ingredients and producers from across Japan, offering guests an elevated introduction to the country’s diverse terroir.

Renewed Wellness at Club On The Park

Spanning two floors and 22,600 square feet, Club On The Park reopens with state-of-the-art fitness facilities, a glass-ceiling indoor pool, Technogym Artis equipment, saunas, cold plunges, and a full suite of spa treatments. Signature offerings include the Tokyo Elixir Facial and the calligraphy-inspired Tokyo Massage, both designed to improve circulation and restore balance. The three-hour Restorative Retreat blends movement, massage, and high-performance skincare for a complete wellness immersion overlooking the skyline.
