Frasers House has opened in Singapore’s Bugis precinct, the newest addition to Marriott International’s The Luxury Collection and its first city-centre property in the destination.

Until recently the InterContinental Singapore, the property was rebadged as the result of a new agreement between Frasers Hospitality and Marriott International.

As part of this next phase, the hotel will undergo a carefully considered restoration aimed at enhancing its architectural character while reinterpreting it for contemporary travellers. It draws inspiration from nearby Kampong Glam, Arab Street and the historic Bras Basah–Bugis arts district, embedding a strong sense of place into its identity.

“We are delighted to partner with Marriott International to enhance this heritage landmark, Frasers House, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Singapore,” said Eu Chin Fen, Chief Executive Officer of Frasers Hospitality.

“This strategic move crystallises our commitment to value creation through thoughtful asset enhancement, while rejuvenating a treasured property long entwined with Singapore’s cultural icon to restore its timeless expression of place, history, and modern luxury.”

Marriott International echoed this sentiment, highlighting the hotel’s alignment with the brand’s philosophy. “Frasers House, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Singapore perfectly embodies the brand’s ethos — an authentic expression of place, offering rare and enriching journeys,” said Oriol Montal, Regional Vice President, Luxury, Asia Pacific excluding China, Marriott International.

Once fully transformed, the hotel will feature more than 400 guest rooms and suites, designed to reflect the district’s multicultural heritage. Its dining portfolio will also be updated, refreshing existing concepts while continuing to celebrate local flavours.

The property’s approximately 1,000 square metres of event space, including a grand ballroom and the Library, will be reimagined for weddings, corporate gatherings and social occasions. Guests will also continue to enjoy amenities such as the outdoor swimming pool, fitness centre and enhanced wellness offerings.
